The Statesman is an Indian English-language broadsheet daily newspaper founded in 1875 and published simultaneously in Kolkata, New Delhi, Siliguri and Bhubaneswar. The Statesman is owned by The Statesman Ltd. Its headquarters are located at Statesman House, Chowringhee Square, Kolkata, and its national editorial office is in Statesman House, Connaught Place, New Delhi. It is a member of the Asia News Network.



The Statesman (average weekday circulation approximately 180,000) is a leading English newspaper in West Bengal. The Sunday Statesman has a circulation of 230,000.



The Statesman Publishes Bengali daily, naming Dainik Statesman. The newspaper became popular after the Singur and Nandigram clashes since 2006 when The Statesman group and more specifically the Bengali version, Dainik Statesman presented the views of those opposed to land-acquisition



Dainik Statesman is a Bengali daily newspaper run by The Statesman group with its central office being The Statesman House at Chowringhee. Dainik Statesman started circulation from June 28, 2004. The newspaper is well known for its anti-government stance like the English paper, The Statesman.



The newspaper became more popular after the Singur and Nandigram clashes since 2006 when The Statesman group and more specifically the Bengali version, Dainik Statesman presented the views of those opposed to land-acquisition whereas the ABP group was more interested in presenting the views of those who were for land being acquired forcibly.
