The Music of Middle-Earth (Reference)

The Music of Middle-Earth 1.0

Device: iOS Universal

Category: Reference

Price: Free, Version: 1.0 (iTunes)

Description:

"The Music of Middle-Earth" is an unofficial guide to index Howard Shore's music for the "Lord of the Rings" films.

The score consists of more than 80 leitmotifs (themes) that relate to specific characters, locations or cultures of Middle-Earth.

The application tries to list all occurrences of these themes throughout the soundtrack, more specifically the "Complete Recordings" albums released between 2005 and 2007.

Note: Currently, only the first album "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring - The Complete Recordings" is included and categorized.

If the "Complete Recordings" albums are part of the device's iPod Library, the tracks and all indexed sections can also be played and listened to directly from the application.

Additionally, when listening to a track, the currently playing themes are always displayed in the "Playing" section.

Note: None of the music is part of this application. The albums must be acquired seperately.
