Description:



GoGetGame OctoWord is a crossword-style board game for 1 to 4 players where you form connecting words using (Traditional/Simplified) Chinese character pieces and "input-your-own-character" blank wildcards along the vertical, horizontal, and diagonal directions.



Game Rules

- First word starts at the center star spot.

- Use tile pieces on the rack to form words on the game board in the horizontal, vertical, or diagonal directions.

- New words must be connected to existing words on the board.

- Game ends when 100 or more pieces have been placed on the board.



Instructions

- Besides the character pieces, blank wildcard pieces may be used to enter text symbols.

- Press right-arrow to the next step, and select the newly form word(s). Each play can form up to two words.

- Press right-arrow again to submit.

- At the end of the turn, depending on the pieces score values, 1 to 4 wildcard pieces are replenished (maximum of 6 wildcard pieces may be held).



Scoring

- The score value of each character piece is indicated on the lower-right corner, ranging from 2 to 9 points. More difficult characters have higher scores; wildcards have 1 point each.

- Circled numbers on the game board are premium spots. The corresponding character (ring) or word (solid) receives double or triple scores.

- If only wildcards are used in a turn, then premium spots are not effective, and each existing piece used counts only as 1 point.

- If two or more character pieces are used in one turn, an additional bonus of 30 points are awarded (except for the first word on board, where the bonus is 15 points).
